ALERT: ABQ Health Partners to adopt a new name – DaVita Medical Group

ALERT:  ABQ Health Partners to adopt a new name – DaVita Medical Group

ABQ Health partners, a multi-specialty health care organization, didn’t even exist a decade ago.  But it has developed into a prominent fixture in the Albuquerque-area medical community, with 15 clinic locations and five urgent care centers (in cooperation with NextCare).  The organization, which describes itself as physician led, has trumpeted a patient-centered approach to care and an emphasis on coordinated care.

The organization recently began informing patients and others that it will publicly change its name to DaVita Medical Group later in February.  In fact however, the organization has been affiliated with DaVita Medical Group for several years already.  According to ABQ Health Partners, DaVita manages and operates medical groups and physician networks in six states.  In the coming months, ABQ Health Partners’ familiar green apple logo (and the name on its web site and written materials) will be changing to reflect the DaVita Medical group name.  However ABQ Health Partners assures patients that their relationships with the organization, and the use of their insurance coverage, will not change.
