SCLO’s Work

The Senior Citizens’ Law Office, Inc. (SCLO) has been championing the rights of New Mexico’s elder population since 1983 by providing free, civil legal services to Bernalillo County seniors. In 2007 SCLO expanded its free services to low income Central New Mexico seniors.

We work on the forefront of legal advocacy on behalf of our elders, making a real difference in their lives. SCLO helps seniors navigate complex public benefits bureaucracies, challenge deceptive consumer practices, access health care coverage and services, avoid financial exploitation by family members and protect their homes from foreclosure.

Our Impact

By the end of 2015 SCLO will have served 3,200 individual clients in Central New Mexico. SCLO’s individual and system-wide advocacy has positively impacted many thousands of seniors statewide.
